How To Install Renofy

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about using Renofy.

What is Renofy?

Renofy creates a shared job record between homeowners and tradespeople.

It tracks scope, quotes, changes, milestones, and photos in one place — helping jobs stay clear from day one and reducing the risk of misunderstandings later.

What makes Renofy different from Checkatrade or MyBuilder?

Renofy isn't just a directory — it's a shared job record that keeps scope, changes, and progress clearly documented from start to finish, designed to stop disputes before they start.

Is Renofy free?

Yes. Renofy is free for homeowners and tradespeople. There are no fees to post jobs or send quotes.

For Homeowners

Do I need to find a tradesperson through Renofy?

No. If you already have a tradesperson, you can invite them directly and run the job through Renofy.

If you're still looking, you can also post publicly to receive quotes.

Do I need an account to use Renofy?

You can start by viewing and filling out a job link from a tradesperson.

You'll be asked to create an account after posting your job brief — sign-up is quick, just your name, email, and a password.

What does the shared job record include?

Your job brief, quotes, agreed scope changes, milestones, and progress photos — all stored in one clear timeline.

What happens if the scope changes mid-job?

Renofy makes it easy to log and agree changes as they happen.

Both sides can see what changed, when it was approved, and how it affects the job — helping avoid confusion later.

Is my address kept private?

Yes. Only your general area is shown publicly.

Your full address is only shared if you choose to provide it to a tradesperson. See our privacy policy for more details.

How do I communicate with tradespeople?

You can continue using your usual methods, or use Renofy messaging to keep everything in one place and keep your contact details private.

Why are some jobs publicly visible?

Public jobs improve transparency and help build real work history on the platform, so homeowners can judge tradespeople based on evidence.

Can I still post a job to the marketplace?

Yes. If you want multiple quotes, you can list your job publicly and receive responses from tradespeople in your area.

You can also invite a specific tradesperson directly if you already have someone in mind.

How are tradespeople verified?

Tradespeople verify their identity through OneID. Profiles may also show insurance and qualifications where provided.

We still recommend homeowners carry out their own checks before hiring. See our terms of service.

For Tradespeople

A shared timeline between you and your customer that keeps scope, quotes, milestones, photos, and changes clearly documented from day one.

How do I use Renofy with my existing customers?

Send your customer a link to create the job brief.

Once they submit it, you can quote and run the job through Renofy with a shared record in place.

How does Renofy help me win work?

Customers feel more confident when everything is written down and agreed.

Using Renofy signals professionalism and helps prevent scope confusion later.

What are milestones?

Milestones break work into clear stages with agreed deliverables.

They help customers understand pricing and help you structure progress over the job.

Is Renofy really free for trades?

Yes — Renofy is free for tradespeople.

We believe quality trades shouldn't have to pay for leads, and a free platform avoids conflicts of interest.

What does identity verification involve?

OneID verification is quick and secure. It confirms identity through your bank, without uploading documents.

Verification is only required for quoting on public marketplace jobs. See our terms of service.

What about insurance and qualifications?

Tradespeople can upload proof of insurance and qualifications for regulated work.

This is displayed on profiles so customers can see what's been provided.
