About Renofy
What is Renofy?
Renofy is a shared job agreement tool for homeowners and tradespeople. Scope, quotes, changes, milestones, and photos all live in one shared digital record – so both parties always know what was agreed and what's been done, from first enquiry to final invoice.
Is Renofy legally binding?
Renofy produces a shared digital job agreement that both parties accept. It's not the same as a bespoke contract drafted by a solicitor, but it holds up under scrutiny. It creates a clear, timestamped record of what was agreed and what was completed, consistent with UK government standards for credible digital documents.
How much does it cost?
Renofy is free to create professional quotes, invoices and job agreements. If you choose to take card payments through the app, Stripe charges its standard card-processing fee.
Do you hold money in escrow?
Not yet but it's coming soon! When it lands, customers will deposit the agreed amount upfront. Each milestone payment will be released to the tradesperson when the milestone is approved. For now, you can pay directly through the app, or by cash or bank transfer – whatever you prefer.
Why do both parties use it?
Both parties get clarity on what's been agreed. Tradespeople look more professional and get confidence that their customer is serious. Homeowners get confidence in their tradesperson and visibility on what's been done. Everything stays in one shared record instead of scattered across messages – and better records mean fewer disputes.
Do I need to find a tradesperson through Renofy?
No. Create your job spec once, then share the link wherever you're already looking – Facebook groups, WhatsApp, word of mouth, wherever. Any tradesperson you invite can view the full spec and quote through Renofy. One clear spec, no repeating yourself, no explaining the job from scratch every time.
What if extra work comes up mid-job?
That's what the change-order flow is for. A new milestone is proposed with a description and cost, the customer approves, and the job agreement updates. No surprise bills and no awkward conversations at the end.
What if there's a dispute?
Everything agreed and done is timestamped and on record. If anything's ever questioned, you've got a clear account of what was agreed, what changed, and what was delivered – and you can share that record with anyone you need advice from. Better records mean fewer home renovation disputes in the first place.
Do I still send my own invoice?
You can if you want. Renofy generates one automatically from the agreed milestones so you don't have to – every line already approved, every stage already on the record.
Practical questions
How do I get started?
Create a job, invite the other party, and you're up and running. From there, Renofy becomes a living record that grows with the job – quotes, milestones, changes, and photos all in one place.
Can I use Renofy for a job I've already started?
Yes – Renofy works whether you're at day one or mid-renovation. Create the agreement from where you are now, agree the remaining scope and milestones with the other party, and everything from that point is on the record. Most people find it easiest to start at the next natural milestone.
How is the work paid for?
Either through the app with a card, or off-platform with cash or bank transfer. Up to you.
Is it time consuming?
The opposite – it's designed to save you time. AI helps write the job spec, quotes are built with a simple tool, and invoices are generated automatically. The more detail you add, the more evidence you have if anything's ever questioned – but even the basics take minutes.
Do both people need to sign up?
Yes, but it takes 10 seconds with Facebook, Google or Apple. No card needed.
Does my customer need to download anything?
No. You send them a link by text or WhatsApp. They tap it, view the quote, and accept it – all in their browser.
Will this work for small jobs, not just extensions?
Yes. A £100 boiler service takes thirty seconds to quote. Renofy works for any job worth writing down.
How does the AI job creation work?
When you create a job, Renofy's AI assistant helps capture the details – the things people forget to mention and the questions that usually only come up once work's already started. You stay in control, it just makes sure nothing's missed.
How do I use Renofy with my existing customers?
Create the job yourself and invite your customer to agree it, or share your personal Renofy link with a lead and let them describe the work through the AI chat. Either way you get a clear, structured job spec before you quote – no back-and-forth, no missing details.
Can I find new customers or tradespeople through Renofy?
Yes. Verified tradespeople can browse and quote on public jobs posted by homeowners in their area. If you're a homeowner without a tradesperson in mind, you can post your job publicly and receive quotes through the platform.
What makes Renofy different from Checkatrade or MyBuilder?
Renofy isn't a directory or a lead generation site – it's a shared job agreement tool that keeps scope, quotes, changes, and progress documented from start to finish. You bring your own tradesperson or homeowner, Renofy makes sure everything's agreed and on the record.
Is my address kept private?
Yes. Only your general area is shown publicly. See our privacy policy for details.
What does identity verification involve?
OneID verification is quick and secure – it confirms your identity through your bank, no document uploads needed. Verification is only required for quoting on public jobs.
